It starts from greenness (NDVI): how strongly the crop is growing, averaged over the field in the latest clear satellite image. If the leaves hold less water than expected for that much growth, up to 0.15 is taken off. Once the crop has closed over, leaf chlorophyll (NDRE) fine-tunes the score.
"Moisture-stressed canopy" means dry leaves are the main thing pulling the score down.
Young crops, freshly cut grass and bare winter ground score low, and that's normal. Compare the field with itself over time.

Pasture Alerts
Get a phone notification when a grazing field is at risk of overgrazing (NDVI falling while livestock demand exceeds grass growth). Checked once daily.
Daily Field Briefing
Each morning, get a one-page summary of all your fields (ranked worst-first) — viewable in-app and downloadable as a PDF, with a push when it's ready.
Hazard Alert Ticker
Shows live regional hazard alerts (weather events, floods, drought) at the bottom of the Management Hub page on desktop. Sourced from MeteoAlarm (EU) and GDACS.

New, and under ongoing testing. Free with Pro and Business. Shapefiles have been checked in mapping software; ISOXML is still being tried on tractor screens. Please tell us how it works on your machine: simon@nimbusearth.com
For spreaders, sprayers and drills that can change their rate as they drive (variable-rate). The file tells the machine how much to put on each zone. If yours can't, you don't need this.
The amount you'd put on evenly if you weren't using zones. It's in your fertiliser plan (from your agronomist), or it's what your spreader or drill is set to now. Not sure? Ask whoever plans your fertiliser or seed.
Not sure? Choose "Same everywhere": the file still works, and you can try varying it another time.
To decide, walk the Low zone and find out why it's low. Many farmers start with a small change (around 10–20%) and compare the crop over the season.
Example: your plan says 70 kg N/ha as ammonium nitrate. The app works that out as 203 kg/ha of AN. With 15% "More on High zones": Low 172, Average 203, High 233 kg/ha.
The app never recommends rates. For rates that suit your field, ask your agronomist or a FACTS-qualified adviser.
These come from your answers. You can change any of them.
Which kind of screen does your tractor have? Not sure? Shapefile works on most.
Leave blank unless you know it. If you enter it, the map is drawn in squares that size.
Rates are yours to set. Unzoned spots inside the field get the Average rate. Check the file on your screen before applying.
